If you have been following trends in recent years, you may know that 91% of retail brands utilize 2 or more social media platforms. In addition, 79% of all online adults in the United States are on Facebook. Social media is a major part of today’s society, and businesses are not exempt from its influence. If your company has no social media presence, you could be missing out on a tremendous potential audience. If you do have social media accounts for your business, but your posts are not getting quite the traction you would like, it may be time to dive into social media post boosting and how to be successful at it.

Set a Goal

Setting goals for social media starts with what you hope to achieve as a business. Why are you doing what you do? When you have established your purpose, you can make feasible goals that remain true to that mission. Goals can be a tricky beast to conquer. They should be aspirational enough to provoke a positive movement towards achieving them, but they should also be realistic enough to make sense and to not discourage effort in the first place. Goals should be achievable and attainable, not impossible. Dreaming big is great, until slow progress or lack of success dashes those dreams down.

In addition, goals should be measurable and specific. Defining an exact, quantifiable goal that you would like to accomplish gives you something to work towards directly, and also allows you to be able to check in on your progress. By setting a goal that is measurable, you can see how far you have come, in exact numbers or statistics, and how far you still need to go. You know without a doubt when you have reached success in this specific aspect as well, all thanks to establishing set numbers you hoped to get to.

When it comes to deciding what your goal should be for your business, it is important to consider what will increase your company’s success. You may choose to increase brand awareness for your business, and get your name out there for people who have not heard of you yet. If your brand already has an established reputation, but not many people are interacting with you, you may choose to set a goal that aligns with increasing brand engagement. Or, perhaps your social media engagement is great, but the traffic to your website is not where you would like it to be, you can choose to boost this. You may also choose to promote specific content or blog posts. Regardless of what your goal is, make sure it is measurable and attainable.

Choose Your Audience

You could create the most aesthetically appealing post to boost on social media, and have clever content to accompany it. You could have a clear goal in mind and a plan to achieve it. However, if you are boosting posts to the wrong audience for your product or services, you will see little success.

It is crucial that you understand who might be interested in what you are providing, and investing in your marketing towards them. Think about what problem your services or products solve, and then who may have that problem. Tailor your audience by various factors and be as specific as necessary without narrowing down your options too much.

Choose Your Post

When you have decided who you would like to reach and what goal you are working towards, it becomes easier to decide which post to boost to accomplish these things. Regardless of what your goals are and who your audience is, the post you choose should be high quality, in both imagery and text content. Pick a post that is clear in message and provides a quality first impression for your brand. In addition, your post should include a clear and concise call to action, or CTA. This is what drives behaviors that lead to achieving your goals.
